My observations on Pontypridd parkrun

As a certified University of Glamorgan drop-out I was quite familiar with Ynysangharad Parc. I had even many years in the past tried running some of my C25K sessions in the park. So while visiting the town I was pleased to pay a visit to their parkrun.

The parkrun starts with a nice flat small lap, perfect for leading you into a false sense of security before you face the three long laps, with the back hill that exists to drain all energy, happiness and motivation. After the hill is the nicest part of the route, a gently slide down towards the finish line.

The après-parkrun takes place in the local Wetherspoons, another place I seem to know quite well.

The park is also home to the Pontypridd Junior parkrun, which I have never run, but where I have been volunteered a few times.
